SANDINISTA MEETING OF SOLIDARITY WITH NICARAGUA: SPECIAL DECLARATION ON PALESTINE

https://www.tortillaconsal.com/bitacora/node/2825

From this first Sandinista Solidarity Meeting with Nicaragua we want to make a special declaration on the situation in Palestine. Everyone gathered here

Considering that:

• The events that are taking place these days, in which the Palestinian resistance has undertaken actions against the occupying State, are a consequence of more than 75 years of occupation, of murders of Palestinians, torture, administrative detentions, demolition of houses, in short, violation of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

•  International Law, both in UN Resolution 37/43 and in the 4th Geneva Convention, support “the inalienable right” of the Palestinian people to “self-determination, national independence, territorial integrity, sovereignty and national unity without foreign interference,” and reaffirms the legitimacy of their fight for those rights “by all necessary means, including armed struggle.”

• There is no Palestinian-Israeli conflict, but rather a colonialist imposition.

• It is not a war between two States, nor a fight by the West against terrorism, but rather it is an ethnic cleansing that began in 1948 with the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians from their lands, to which the Palestinians call Al-Nakba (the Catastrophe), which continues to this day. In fact, what we are seeing these days in the bombings of the civilian population, hospitals, and schools, is part of that strategy of exterminating the indigenous population to appropriate all their territory.

•  Zionist colonialism combines occupation. ethnic cleansing and apartheid, being a genocidal project.

• The humanitarian catastrophe that Gaza is experiencing today constitutes a crime against humanity. Therefore the Zionist perpetrators must be tried by the International Criminal Court for war crimes, genocide and the crime of aggression.

• The blockade by land, sea, and air to which the Gaza Strip has been subjected since 2007 has placed those in Gaza in a borderline situation of slow extermination and has caused thousands of victims, many of them women and children.

• Gaza has suffered five successive wars (2008-2014-2018-2021-2022) that have devastated tens of thousands of Palestinian lives. In doing so, the Zionist entity has bombed civilians, demolished houses and public and private infrastructure. It has cut off the supply of water, electricity, food; it has attacked schools, hospitals, and mosques. Their objective has always been to carry out their plans to expel the Palestinian civilian population from their land.

• The Zionist Entity, which we call Israel, can currently spread death and terror, and carries out a genocide against the Palestinian people because it considers itself unpunished and has the connivance and complicity of the so-called “International Community.”

• The Zionist State has the support of the United States and NATO, which try to maintain their hegemony and domination of the world.

• That the military power of the Zionist State makes it capable of devastating not only Gaza but, as it is the only State in the area that has nuclear weapons, thus a potential danger to all of humanity.

Therefore, we strongly condemn:

The United States, which has vetoed more than 46 UN resolutions related to the situation in the Middle East, which encourages and sustains the genocide of the Palestinian people by supplying the Zionist entity with weapons, ammunition and technology, and which justifies the massacres of Palestinians, including the bombing of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital.

We condemn the massive disinformation campaign being carried out by the so-called “collective West,” which is only a small part of the world compared to the global South, but which nevertheless continues its drive to subjugate the entire planet.

We condemn the Zionist entity that is among the 20 most militarily powerful countries in the world and deploys its entire war machine against the civilian population and the Palestinian resistance. We condemn the Zionist entity and urge that it be tried for crimes against humanity. We condemn the silence of the West in the face of the massacres committed by the Zionist entity.

We support and demand:

The right to self-determination of the Palestinian people and the right of return of all Palestinians to their places of origin.

The right of the Palestinians and their organizations to resist and fight against the occupation “by all necessary means, including armed struggle” (UN Resolution 37/43 of the 90th plenary session of 1982).

From this Meeting of Solidarity with Sandinista Nicaragua, we echo the voices of our Palestinian brothers and sisters and we commit ourselves to the struggle against the occupation. We commit ourselves to support the Palestinian people and their cause of national liberation until colonialism is ended, until the right of return of all Palestinians to their homes is guaranteed, and a single democratic Palestinian state is established.

We are confident that, just as Sandino’s small army was able to defeat the U.S. empire, so the Palestinian people together with their resistance organizations will be able to defeat Zionist colonialism and imperialism in all its forms.
