Women in Cuba: Our Achievements and Continuing Challenges

Griselda Aguilera Cabrera, the youngest teacher to participate in Cuba’s heroic Literacy Campaign in 1961,
will address these issues related to women – and other issues – in Cuba:
 
– forging equality of the sexes in Cuba
– the struggle against violence against women and children
– the work of the Federation of Cuban Women
– the societal changes related to homphobia and LGBTs,
– the challenges of educating the new generations
– how Hurricane Irma affected Cuba
– the continuing US blockade and how women are particularly affected
