Nuestraamericaflotilla.org: We are sailing to Cuba, bringing critical humanitarian aid for its people A growing coalition of international organizations, including Progressive International, The People’s Forum, CODEPINK, and allied movements across the Americas and beyond is coming together to launch the Nuestra América Flotilla to Cuba in March, 2026, a humanitarian and solidarity mission to the island at a moment of deep crisis. As U.S. policies continue to suffocate the island’s access to fuel, medicine, and essential goods, we believe this is the moment to act. We are organizing a people-powered mission to break the blockade and deliver aid as well as a powerful message: the people of Cuba are not alone. Fill out this interest form to join the flotilla effort.
NBC Interview with Venezuela Acting President Delcy Rodriguez She stated that Trump is not in charge of Venezuela, President Maduro remains the legitimate president of Venezuela. Venezuela now has productive mutually beneficial relations with the US. Under the Hydrocarbons Law and the present situation, the country, through PDVSA, is still in control of its oil, and it remains nationalized for the good of the people. Venezuelan elections will be determined by the constitution and the result of national political dialogue and reconciliation.
NewsMax Interview with Venezuelan President of the National Assembly Jorge Rodriguez The country will work with foreign companies to invest capital in developing the country. The proceeds will go to provide services for the people. The government is now working to maintain social peace, which is one reason the amnesty law is being voted on.
Orinoco Tribune: OFAC Licenses select Oil Companies to Resume Venezuelan Operations following failed US Regime Change The US Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued General Licenses 49 and 50, easing sanctions against Venezuela in a move that many see as evidence of the failure of Washington’s regime change attempt. This shift comes as Chavismo remains in full control of the country despite the recent US aggression. Analysts warn that the language of OFAC licenses should not be confused with Venezuela’s sovereign actions to remain independent. They state that the references to excluded nations should be viewed with caution, noting the disparity between what the US writes in its licenses and the reality on the ground as Venezuela pursues multiple international partners in the oil business.
TeleSur: Venezuela Debunks False Oil Shipment to Israel Report Miguel Perez Pirela, Venezuela’s Sectoral Vice President of Communication and Culture, categorically denied a new false report disseminated by Bloomberg. The incident underscores a persistent pattern of media disseminating unverified claims, which Caracas views as part of a broader strategy to affect the country’s sovereignty and peace, and compromise its international image. Bloomberg’s false report relied heavily on information attributed to “people with knowledge of the deal, who asked not to be identified.” Furthermore, the agency made the demonstrably false assertion that “earlier this year, U.S. forces captured Maduro and the Trump administration said it would take over Venezuelan oil sales,” an egregious and central element of this comprehensive disinformation campaign.
Orinoco Tribune: US Imperialism Forced to Negotiate With Chavismo as US Energy Secretary Visits Orinoco Oil Belt The visit February 12 marks the first time a US energy secretary has traveled to Venezuela in several decades. The failure of US imperialism to achieve its regime-change goal has forced Washington to accept negotiations with Chavista authorities and ease several illegal sanctions. Acting President Rodríguez emphasized that the visit symbolizes a “renewed dynamism” in the oil sector, where economic growth is being bolstered through productive alliances and technological exchange with global players.
Popular Resistance (Roger Harris, John Perry): Laura Dogu And Washington’s Regime-Change Playbook In Latin America Dogu, new US Ambassador to Venezuela, is widely regarded, for good reason, as the “US ambassador of interventions and coups.” Dogu was US ambassador in Managua from 2015 until October 2018, a period coinciding with the preparations and then the coup attempt that began in April 2018 and was defeated in July. When the coup attempt fizzled, President Ortega explicitly identified Laura Dogu, as Washington’s representative, of being “the leader and financier of this conspiracy, the destruction, the fires, the torture, the disrespect for human dignity, the desecration of corpses, and other acts carried out with cruelty against all Nicaraguans marked by the great sin of being Sandinistas.” Laura Dogu’s appointment ultimately signals a recalibration of tactics in pursuit of the same objective that has defined US policy toward the Bolivarian Revolution for decades – regime change through pressure, attrition, and delegitimization.
UPI: U.S. military intercepts Venezuela-linked oil tanker in Indian Ocean The U.S. military intercepted an oil tanker linked to Venezuela after tracking it from the Caribbean into the Indian Ocean. The tanker, the Veronica III, was boarded without incident February 14 in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility after it attempted to outrun the Trump administration’s naval blockade in the Caribbean. The US has now intercepted or seized nine oil tankers associated with Venezuela since Dec. 10 when the administration started enforcing a blockade on oil tankers. At least 16 tankers docked in Venezuelan ports tried to escape the U.S. naval blockade in the days after Maduro’s capture, the New York Times reported, with at least 12 of them turning off their transmission signals in the effort.
Juventud Rebelde: US kills three people in new attack on suspected drug-carrying vessel At least 124 people have died so far in attacks on vessels suspected of drug trafficking as part of Operation Southern Spear, a campaign that the Donald Trump administration says is intended to curb narcotics trafficking.
Workers World (Sara Flounders): Who is Cilia Flores? Who is Delcy Rodríguez? Cilia Flores, kidnapped with President Nicolás Maduro and held prisoner in New York City, is, in the corporate media, often relegated to the dismissive, nondescriptive title of “First Lady.” But Flores has been a political leader of the Bolivarian Revolution for more than 25 years who has held top elected offices. She was elected to the National Assembly in 2000, 2005 and 2021 and was the first female president of the National Assembly (2006 – 2011), served as Attorney General (2012–2013) and was elected to the Constituent Assembly in 2017.
From the beginning Flores, union leader and now President Nicolás Maduro and Acting President Delcy Rodríguez were part of the leadership in the revolutionary movement that emerged from the El Caracazo uprising. Delcy Rodríguez was 10 years old when her father — the rebel fighter Jorge Antonio Rodríguez, who founded the Socialist League Party — was killed under torture in police custody in 1976. The Socialist League was a small Marxist-Leninist political party that promoted armed struggle in the 1970s and 1980s. It merged into the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) along with several other left political parties in 2006 when Hugo Chávez founded the PSUV. Maduro had been a member of the Socialist League.
“El Caracazo” was the rupture that led Nicolás Maduro, a bus driver and the son of a union activist, to start organizing the bus drivers of Caracas, who at that time provided an essential service for all workers who lived miles from the city center in hillside barrios. These bus drivers were unorganized, irregular, “informal” workers without any rights or union benefits. This was true for most of the workforce in Venezuela at that time.
ONCUBA NEWS/EFE: Where does oil come from in Cuba? Various independent calculations estimate that Cuba currently needs about 110,000 barrels of oil per day and produces only 40,000. Venezuela sent about 27,000 barrels per day to Cuba in 2025, according to Reuters’ specialized service; while Russia contributed about 6,000 per day and Mexico, between 6,000 and 12,000, depending on the estimates that EFE cannot independently verify. [Mexico once supplied Cuba with 22,000 barrels of oil a day before it dropped to 7,000 barrels after U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Mexico City this past September.]
Cuba News: Brazilians launch “Oil for Cuba” campaign A broad coalition of social organizations, popular movements, and energy sector unions has launched the national campaign “Oil for Cuba.” The campaign has the fundamental support of the Single Federation of Oil Workers (FUP) and the National Federation of Oil Workers (FNP), together with the Brazilian Movement of Solidarity with Cuba and Just Causes, the José Martí Cultural Association, trade unions, and political parties. They seek to pressure the Brazilian government and the state-owned Petrobras to send fuel to the Caribbean island, defying recent threats of economic suffocation imposed by the US.
