Venezuela Ambassador to UN Samuel Moncada January 5 Speech to the United Nations Security Council
Nicaragua December 23 Statement at United Nations Security Council Emergency Meeting on Venezuela 3. We reaffirm our unwavering solidarity with the Venezuelan Government and with the Venezuelan People who resist the threats and attacks of Imperialism. Their struggle for Peace, Justice and the Right to build their own Destiny is a Cause that we take on as our own.
5. We strongly condemn the aggression and actions of the continuing, intensified hostilities towards Venezuela, which have resulted in a criminal economic blockade and a hybrid war designed to inflict maximum suffering on its civilian population. These deliberate actions seek to provoke the collapse of a Sovereign Nation in order to impose by force, intimidation and starvation, a docile and subservient government at the service of avaricious foreign interests.
11. We reaffirm that the defense of Venezuelan sovereignty is the defense of the UN Charter, of International Law, of the Principle of Non-Intervention and Self-Determination, of the Right of all Peoples to build their own Destiny without foreign coercion, without threats or the use of force in international relations.
Nicaragua Government January 3 Statement on US Attack on Venezuela From this Blessed and Dignified Nicaragua, the Voice of our People is raised with that of our undefeated Heroes, to demand respect for the Sovereignty of the People of Venezuela. As Brothers and Sisters of this Brave and Noble Our America and Caribbean, we join the Outcry of the entire World, and out of deep rejection we affirm that we will continue to strive for International Law and Sovereignty to prevail. We wholeheartedly accompany the call of Venezuela’s Vice-President, Compañera Delcy Rodríguez, to defend Truth, Justice and Life, and demand the immediate release of President, Compañero Nicolás Maduro and Compañera Cilia Flores.
Nicaragua January 5 Statement at UN Security Council meeting on Venezuela 4. Nicaragua supports the statement made by the Interim President of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez, who has called for the immediate release of the Constitutional, Legitimate President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and of the First Combatant of their Nation, Cilia Flores.
6. Venezuela’s People are the dignified people of Bolívar, of Chávez, of Maduro and historically indomitable who defend their sovereignty and their right to Peace. Nicaragua will always stand by Venezuela.
Nicaragua Solidarity Coalition Statement of Solidarity with Venezuela The Nicaragua Solidarity Coalition categorically rejects the illegal attacks on Venezuela by the United States military and its criminal kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and First Combatant Cilia Adela Flores. These actions are a flagrant violation of the principles of international law, sovereignty, and respect among nations. We reject all US interventions in matters internal to sovereign states, recognizing that no US intervention has ever brought peace, democracy or well-being, but instead only suffering, divisiveness and dependency for the affected peoples.
We reaffirm that every sovereign nation has full control over the natural resources found within its territory. The Venezuelan people’s right to self-determination is inalienable, and only the people of Venezuela have the right to decide, free from any external interference, the present and the future of their own country. We make a special call on the people of the United States to immediately and unequivocally hold their government accountable for its criminal actions.
Nicaragua Celebrates 19 Years of Sandinista Popular Rule: Compañera Co-President Rosario Murillo: Nicaragua Triumphs in Peace and Unity; 19 Years of People as President January 10th marks the 19th anniversary of the People as President. And in these 19 Years we have cultivated, cared for and protected our Sublime and Supreme Right to live peacefully and securely, working in harmony to advance and prosper…. This week we firmly declare, on this 19th Anniversary, that our Path is one of Peace…This Week we raise high the irrevocable Commitment of our Brave, Formidable People, an inalienable Commitment, to Peace and Everyone’s Right to Live with Dignity, Joy and Well-being… Peace is our irreplaceable Path, because Nicaragua Triumphs in Work, Peace and Unity. And thus We Go Onward, in Work, Peace and Unity!
Daniel, The Story of a Comandante Hugo Chávez said it best, recalling Brecht’s words on that night of January 10, 2007, when Nicaragua once again embraced Sandino’s heir: “There are the good, the very good, and the indispensable. And Daniel is one of the indispensable ones.” Watching Marcio and Carlos’s documentary fulfills precisely this purpose: to recount, remember, and document the life of the most important leader in Nicaraguan history, to preserve his living memory against distortions and manipulations. In November 2006, the FSLN, with its Comandante at the helm, reclaimed its rightful place: the government of Nicaragua. The greatest transformation project in Nicaraguan history was born, overturning priorities and objectives, and the figure of a leader emerged who never lost his political course. Few, that night in 2006, imagined how far the Nicaragua of Daniel and Rosario would go. It has surpassed all imagination, and its journey is not yet over.
