The Executive Vice President said that the most important weapon is the maximum popular awareness in defense of national sovereignty.
Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez stated that “we are forming the true army of the people of Simón Bolívar, the army that crossed our borders more than 200 years ago to liberate the Great Homeland, to guarantee dignity, self-determination, independence, and freedom,” but that “today is more active than ever to defend Venezuela.”
The senior official then described the “The Barracks Go to the People Across the Country” event as historic. The event saw the men and women of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces deploy to the communes and the 5,336 Communal Districts to prepare Venezuelans to defend peace. She emphasized that through the “Independence 200” Plan, President Nicolás Maduro Moros has called on the people to actively resist and permanently offensive. “Venezuelans are already in a process of preparation. Today, more than ever, this process shows the world the People’s Army,” she affirmed.
Shee stated that the most important weapon is the full awareness of the Venezuelan people, to defend Venezuela in National Unity. “Let no one dare to continue with the threats, with the attacks, because we are prepared to defend peace, tranquility, the right to a future of our sons and daughters, the right to work of the Venezuelan people who today continue on their path of development and progress. Let nothing disturb us, but we are prepared,” he asserted.
Shee also congratulated the FANB [Bolivarian National Armed Forces], and the Venezuelan people, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, “because we have been carrying out a process that definitively protects national independence and sovereignty. This is what we are seeing: a humble, simple people, but a giant in defending our country.”
President Nicolás Maduro also praised the military deployment, calling it a “profound union of the soul of our FANB and our organized, empowered people” during his participation in the Founding Congress of the Ezequiel Zamora National Peasant Union, in the state of Aragua. He asserted that the people remain united in the face of threats from the US empire.
“The US empire threatens the homeland of Simón Bolívar, and the homeland of Simón Bolívar responds: we are more united than ever to safeguard our right to sovereignty, peace, and the right to life and work for the people of Venezuela,” he said. “The people of Venezuela say to the empire: enough of your threats… The empire fears us because we are not afraid. It has never been able to defeat us and will never be able to. If there is one thing that we Venezuelans are, we are tough in the face of any difficulty. If we are threatened, we get even tougher.”
