Peoples Dispatch: The US once again fails to impose its will on the Venezuelan people The US once again brought out its “democracy and human rights” talking points in an attempt to install opposition leader Edmundo González as president. While this effort failed, they will not stop in attempts to loot the country’s resources. Maduro explained why major powers do not want him leading his country. “I have never been, nor will I ever be, president of the oligarchies, of the richest families, of supremacists, or of imperialists. I have one ruler: the common people,” he stated. He also called for broad dialogue to advance constitutional reform. “It is clear and simple: Venezuela belongs to the Venezuelan people, not to empires and their corporations, which seek to steal its oil, gas, and natural resources.”
Ultimas Noticias: Maduro: “We are the guarantee of the existence of the Republic” He said the achievement of peace and the defeat of fascism has only been possible with the strength of the people and the revolution. Maduro stressed that only through revolution and through popular-military-police unity is it possible for the country to continue its path of growth, facilitated by the achievement of peace and the maintenance of constitutional order. “Those who seek to impose interventionist formulas in Venezuela are the heirs of those who perpetrated genocide against more than 80 million indigenous people and who kidnapped our African and Caribbean brothers. This is the work of the colonialist and slave-owning elite.”
Ultimas Noticias: Maduro: No one will ever be able to impose a president on Venezuela “Nobody in this world imposes a president on Venezuela. They have not been able to and they will never be able to… I have denounced that the national and international extreme right tried to turn the presidential inauguration into a “world war” with threats and blackmail towards the Revolutionary Government. They have not been able to and they will never be able to…Many people around the world ask us why, despite being subjected to 930 criminal sanctions, why, despite being subjected to a psychological, political and diplomatic war, you called for presidential elections under these conditions. I tell them that it is because we are constitutionalists, because we comply with the constitution to the letter, because we trust the people.” Maduro stressed that with the electoral victory of July 28, the Venezuelan people once again defeated the pretensions of imperialism. “Now the outgoing US government does not know how to take revenge on Venezuela. They could not defeat us.”
Orinoco Tribune: International Anti-Fascist Festival in Venezuela Ends with Resolution on Global Fight Against Fascism Read the article for the conference resolution. The Festival in Caracas brought more than 2,000 delegates from 125 countries. President Maduro highlighted the need of the formation of a global anti-fascist alliance, for the continuous construction of the capacity of mobilization in cities and the countryside, building forces on social media platforms, in neighborhoods and educational institutions to fight fascism and to transform our countries and societies. João Pedro Stédile of Brazil’s Landless Workers’ Movement of Brazil emphasized President Maduro’s firm stance in defending self-determination and social justice. “Venezuela remains a beacon in the global fight against fascism and imperialism. Under his leadership, Venezuela is leading the fight against all forms of exploitation and dominating the international stage with a focus on justice and unity.”
Al Mayadeen: EU extends sanctions on Venezuela until 2026 The Council of the European Union extended its sanctions against Venezuela for another year. As part of this decision, 15 additional individuals have been sanctioned, including members of Venezuela’s National Electoral Council (CNE), judiciary, and security forces, for their alleged involvement in undermining democratic processes and violating human rights. This brings the total number of sanctioned individuals to 69.
Ultimas Noticias: Venezuelan exports grew 18.7% during 2024 Venezuela exports grew by 18.7%, mainly due to oil shipments to Asia, especially to India. In addition, OPEC reports that Venezuela’s oil production reached one million barrels in December.
Network of Afro-Venezuelan Organizations Reaffirm Sovereignty with President Nicolás Maduro We denounce the climate of tension deliberately created by racist, Zionist, and fascist elements within the national and international opposition. These forces, acting against the will of the Venezuelan people, have sought to destabilize our nation since July 28, 2024, when President Maduro was democratically reelected. Since its founding in June 2000, the Network of Afro-Venezuelan Organizations (ROA) has stood in steadfast support of the Bolivarian Process initiated by Commander Hugo Chávez and continued by President Maduro.

Granma: Removal from the terrorist list is nothing more than the recognition of the truth “Serious, important and in the right direction, although very limited and late”. This is how Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez referred to the measures by the U.S. government, which exclude Cuba from the list of countries that sponsor terrorism; indicate the suspension of the right to initiate an action under Title III of the Helms-Burton Act of 1996, and eliminate the list of restricted Cuban entities with which U.S. citizens and institutions are prohibited from financial transactions, which has had an effect on third countries. “The U.S. administration has taken these decisions because its plan has failed, because the vision of provoking the collapse of the Cuban economy, the social explosion (…), is still unable to achieve its objectives”. He stressed that the measures constitute the recognition that their policy against Cuba is an obsolete, failed policy, which does not contribute to the objectives or national interests of the U.S., nor does it have the support of U.S. citizens or Cubans living in that country; that it causes world isolation, discrediting its foreign policy.
