Mondoweiss: House passes dangerous bill that targets nonprofits, pro-Palestine groups for supporting “terrorism” The House has passed H.R. 9495, a bill that would allow the Treasury Secretary to strip tax-exempt status from nonprofits. Since Cuba is designated a State Sponsor of Terrorism, all Cuba solidarity groups and non-profits associated with them can be targets. Many view the draconian legislation as an attempt to crack down on the Palestine movement. “I voted against HR 9495 because it gives any administration—including the incoming Trump administration—a tool to weaponize the federal government against civil society organizations, from unions to groups that support health care, protect immigration, and promote civil rights,” said Rep. Chuy Garcia (D-IL). “I just voted NO on HR 9495 — legislation that would give Donald Trump unfettered power to punish civil society groups, news outlets, hospitals, and universities with zero due process,” tweeted Rep. Pramila Jayapal, chair of the Progressive Caucus.

Granma: The current president wants to end his days in the White House by creating irreversible conditions for a new global conflagration to break out All indications are that the world is in the presence of a US president – Joe Biden – who is prepared, “at the last minute,” to set the planet Earth on fire, with all its inhabitants inside, before leaving office. His latest decision – irresponsible, defiant and dangerous – was made when he authorized, for the first time, Ukraine to “attack the interior of Russian territory with long-range missiles supplied by the United States,” according to The New York Times. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., said that “the anonymous men in ties who are currently directing US foreign policy seem to want to start World War III before they leave the White House.”
TeleSur: The U.S. Imperialism Has Entered a Phase of Madness: President Maduro “The governments of the United States, France, and Great Britain —the holy alliance of evil— have just approved the criminal Nazi Zelensky to use his long-range missiles to attack our sister Russia…This is a defining moment. U.S. imperialism has entered a phase of madness… I used to tell the high military command not to let their guard down. Today, I ask them to raise their guard to safeguard peace across the country’s territory….All military forces, popular forces, and the people must protect the nation against the delirious madness of the gringo empire.”
Orinoco Tribune: White House Proclaims Edmundo González ‘President-Elect’ of Venezuela The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, has announced that his government recognizes the former far-right Venezuelan opposition candidate, Edmundo González, as so-called “president-elect of Venezuela,” in their insistence to repeat a script that failed and now seeks to impose a new Juan Guaidó.
Venezuelanalysis: Venezuela Denounces BOLIVAR Act and US Recognition of González as ‘President-Elect’ The Venezuelan government has strongly condemned the BOLIVAR Act, a new bipartisan legislation approved by the US House of Representatives aimed at tightening economic sanctions against the country. The HR 825 bill will prohibit US federal agencies from contracting “the procurement of goods or services with any person that engages in significant business operations” with the Maduro government or any successor that is not recognized as “legitimate” by the White House. The legislation was passed November 18 by the US House with bipartisan support from both Republicans and Democrats. It was introduced by Mike Waltz (R-FL) and Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) and will now move to the US Senate. Waltz, picked as a national security advisor for the incoming Trump administration, stated in a press release that the bill “sends a powerful message to Maduro that there will be no appeasement.”
Venezuelanalysis: Venezuelans Debate Plan for Popular Democracy in Historic Bloc Congress President Maduro called to “shake the foundations of the Venezuelan bourgeois state and build a communal, democratic state of the people.” More than 6,000 representatives from popular and political movements across Venezuela gathered in Caracas for the “Bolivarian Historic Bloc Congress for the 21st Century” between November 14-16. The delegates debated hundreds of proposals collected in over 100,000 nationwide assemblies that took place in the previous months.
