New US Attempt to Assassinate Venezuela President, Vice President, other leaders Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello, reported on the arrest of 14 mercenaries linked to a plan to assassinate Venezuelan leaders. A large batch of US-made weapons, a total of 400 rifles and pistols were seized. He added that, when these weapons were sent from the United States, the FBI had inspected the package but did not confiscate the weapons nor arrest anyone, showing a video to back up his allegations. These people had messages on their phones about the acquisition of C4 explosives to start rebellions in prisons and break prisons to join the terrorists. A US citizen named Aaron Barrett and his Venezuelan partner, Astrid Emperatriz Ortega, were also arrested. They are hackers, according to Cabello. Venezuelanalysis: Venezuela Announces Arrest of US Navy SEAL, Weapons Seizure Minister Diosdado Cabello reported the arrest of a US Navy SEAL and two Spanish citizens allegedly linked to intelligence agencies. They are accused of plotting to assassinate President Maduro and other high-ranking Venezuelan officials. In front of some of the 400 seized firearms linked to the plot, Cabello accused Wilbert Joseph Castañeda, an active duty US sailor, of leading the effort on behalf of US intelligence. “Castañeda is the head of the operation, placed here by the CIA. The US is behind this operation. The US is handing over these firearms, they allow them to freely circulate so they can arrive in Venezuela and be used in an operation.” Cabello said security forces also uncovered a conspiracy to launch grenades at the Argentinian Embassy in Caracas to generate a diplomatic incident to be blamed on the Maduro government.

Maria Paez Victor: Venezuelans May Not Elect Their President, or the Saga of a Persecuted NationUS propaganda has been working full tilt these last twenty years with respect to Venezuela, but last month with its presidential elections, it has gone into stratospheric dimensions. The mainstream media, now more than ever, is openly functioning as a propaganda machine for Washington’s narratives. Their narratives reflect the interests of the US government and the powerful economic elites that own the media and even the USA gov. This last year there were five assassination attempts against President Maduro. The US placed a price of $15 million on his head, while the US Southern Command lurks threateningly offshore Venezuela.

The most respected pollster in Venezuela, Oscar Schémel, has carried out reliable studies of public opinion.  These are some of his key findings: the majority of Venezuelans attribute most of the country’s economic problems to the foreign sanctions on the country. 86% reject the sanctions; 90% state that sanctions affect all the population;69% are content with the economic model of the country described as a mix of socialism and capitalism…In Venezuela the people feel optimistic about their future. A poll carried out by the conservative Catholic university concluded that 95% feels optimistic about the future, 93% feel better times will come despite uncertainty, and 63% are moderately optimistic of their future in Venezuela.

Rafael Correa interviews Venezuela Vice President Delcy Rodriguez:  Venezuela’s Capacity to Face Economic Warfare Delcy said that Venezuela is setting a very important precedent in economic matters by registering one of the highest growth rates in Latin America. “[It is] a real milestone to recover its economy, showing a capacity for resilience that has not been seen in any country in the region or the world. The persecution against Venezuela is due to the fact that it has a large reserve of natural resources”…The world “must pay attention to what is happening, because their assets are in danger, as is their money. They should not suffer the same fate as is happening in Venezuela with the theft of their assets and their wealth. That is why we must be careful with what is happening in the West. There is a world beyond them, beyond their borders. There is a world that wants to change. There is a world in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East that wants a world where we all participate as an independent community of sovereign nations.”
