The First World Congress against Fascism, Neofascism and other similar expressions, held in Caracas from September 10 to 11, was closed by the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro. Speaking before the more than 1,200 participants who came to the international event from almost 100 countries, the president denounced that “The battlefield is no longer economic, today the battlefield is the field of social networks, which in Venezuela played and continue to play the decisive and determining role in confronting the population, inciting hatred, violence and fascism,” said the South American leader.
However, this does not mean that the Caribbean country is not “besieged, persecuted, blockaded, sanctioned commercially, economically and technologically by the most powerful power,” Maduro stressed. The president pointed out the role of Western digital platforms in provoking opposition violence after the last presidential elections and promised that “fascism in Venezuela will never come to political power.” Finally, he announced the creation of the First Antifascist International, based in Caracas.
Maduro denounces that Venezuela is facing a “criminal fascist outbreak” promoted by the US
CARACAS (Sputnik) — Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said on September 11 that his country is facing a “criminal fascist outbreak,” which he considered “very dangerous” and said that the aggression is being promoted from the United States. “We are facing an international aggression and a very dangerous criminal fascist outbreak against Venezuela, the Government of the United States of America, the CIA, the DEA, as we have been denouncing, and as today, we have more evidence than ever, which will be made known in due time,” he said in a broadcast on Venezuelan Television.
President Maduro made this comment during his participation in the closing of the first World Congress against Fascism, Neofascism and Similar Expressions, which took place in Caracas between September 10 and 11. During the meeting, the president pointed out that the United States designed the “multidimensional operation against Venezuela” in the context of the presidential election that took place in this Latin American country on July 28.
At the same time, the head of state reported that these actions were planned in parallel to the processes of “conversations and negotiations” with the Joe Biden Administration and Venezuelan authorities. At the event, attended by more than 1,200 delegates from 95 countries, Nicolás Maduro said that Venezuela is fighting a “definitive” battle and called for joining forces to support the Latin American nation. “Today in Venezuela a decisive battle is taking place and I ask the social, political, intellectual, artistic and creative movements of the world, I ask the entire world, to understand the reasons for our struggle and I ask for the support, accompaniment and solidarity of all the anti-fascist, anti-colonialist, anti-imperialist and democratic movements of the world for the battle that Venezuela is waging,” added the president.
In addition, the president proposed the creation of an international mechanism that is “anti-fascist, anti-colonialist, anti-imperialist, that fights for a new world.” “Those delegates to this anti-fascist congress who agree with this proposal, please do so with the customary sign (…) Approved! The anti-fascist international is created ,” he exclaimed. Maduro urged the delegates present at the international meeting to work to build a “more just and equitable” world .
