Nicaragua President Daniel Ortega Speech condemns US interference in Venezuela’s July 28 presidential election

Brothers and sisters all, Comrades all, today is July 30th and just 2 days ago, July 28th was the Birthday of the Eternal Commander, Hugo Chávez Frías, a Brother with a Heart where the Preaching of Christ was always present, to help, to help his People and to help even the poor Families, because there is poverty and misery in the United States of America, and there he promoted Programs to bring benefits to the poor Families of the United States.

The fact that the American rulers hated him, rejected him, did not lead him to act in the same way, but rather his generosity with the American people, always denouncing, as he did.

On that day, the 28th, elections were held in Venezuela, one more of the many elections that have taken place in Venezuela and in which since Chavez, all the elections have been won. But there was already the evil germ of those who call themselves democrats and are nothing more than tyrants who do not respect the votes of the People, because they simply do not respect the People, but rather they want them to suffer hunger, to suffer hardships, while they get richer every day.

Chavez won that election and I was in the Venezuelan Parliament when he was sworn in, and then we marched through the streets of Caracas from Parliament to the presidential area where he was naming the Cabinet Ministers. And not much time had passed, I would say not even years had passed, when the coup against Commander Chavez came.

Look, he had won the elections fairly and the same people who now want to carry out a coup against President Nicolás Maduro managed to carry out a coup against Commander Chávez, the legitimate President. But in this case the determining force was the force of the people and with the people the military, who were loyal to the President and were loyal to Chávez, and together with the people they defeated the coup plotters, and Chávez recovered the presidency.

Well, the elections were held on the 28th, we all saw how they were developing, and in many countries they started to give out data even with much less than the percentage that the data gave there in Venezuela. And they start to give out data when 8% of the votes are in, then at 15% of the votes, well, everyone has their own way of managing the elections, and from there with 80% of the votes they give the results where President Nicolás Maduro wins the elections, with 51% of the votes he wins the elections when the count is already at 80%, therefore it is already irreversible.

And that was when the plan began to develop with greater fury, the plan that the coup plotters, the terrorists, had been carrying out long before the elections. And on the 29th, what did we see? We saw the other candidate, who was really the puppet of the Far Right, declaring that he was the President.

And they had already paid, they had bought the humble people of the neighborhoods, the same scheme of 2018 here, so that people, humble kids, drug addicts, would go out to cause destruction, to destroy City Halls, to destroy Health Posts, to destroy vehicles, to destroy small businesses.

And it happened there that one of the coup plotters was running to where they were setting fire to some small businesses, and the people were screaming, the business owners were crying, and the other coup plotters who had already advanced and burned the business, thought that the one who was arriving was the owner of the business, and they killed him, burned him, set him on fire.

That day the Army and the Police acted with caution, and they also shot at the Police, because they have weapons, shooting at the Police, they killed a Policeman, they injured 97 Policemen.

This behavior reflects that the plan was already very well organized, that part of the plan was a number of Latin American governments and that they were all going against the election results, and already saying that the elections had not been correct. In other words, who had appointed them as Electoral Judges to say which election was correct and which was not correct?

We have seen these scandals continuously, not only in Latin America, but in Europe as well, how the parties that lost disqualify the results; they disqualify the results, but there is no interference from other countries to say that the results were not correct.

And of course, the representative of the government that claims to be the purest and cleanest government in the world came out, the one that practices the purest and cleanest democracy, the spokesman for military and economic power, because there the Presidents do not govern anything, there those who command are the economic powers, the military powers, those who want more wars. And they came out disqualifying the elections; that is, the greatest democrat, the United States of America, is in charge.

And you don’t have to go very far to realize that they are Pharisees, because when the election took place, where the two candidates were Al Gore, the Democratic candidate, and Bush, the Republican candidate, the election was won by Al Gore and there was a scandal in the United States, a world scandal, because they were stealing the elections from Al Gore.

So what did the Republicans do? They found a Republican judge there in the District, they went to the judge and asked him to tell them who had won, and the judge said that Bush had won, Bush Jr., yes. Everyone saw that, everyone saw that electoral fraud, everyone saw that electoral theft.

But let’s go a little closer in time, when there are elections to try to re-elect Mr. Donald Trump, a racist, enemy of women, enemy of Latin Americans, enemy of everything that smells of indigenous. Racist to the core, and he says it calmly and publicly insults women.

He is facing off against the current President of the United States, Biden. Well, the election is going well and Biden is winning, while Trump begins to shout that the election is being stolen from him, that it is a fraud, with these words: This is a fraud, and he continues to repeat it until this moment that it was a fraud, calmly.

And since the guy is a racist, but he is also a bully, he comes and makes the plan, organizes the plan so that Congress does not give the Presidency to Biden, and he goes and calls on the Republican bases to go and take over Congress.

Remember well what kind of democracy that is, remember well, Nicaraguan brothers and sisters, what happened in the United States: They took over Congress! They destroyed the Capitol, and there was no Security Police there to stop those who attacked Congress, why? Because they were from Trump. But when they entered, they had already managed to vote in favor of Biden in Congress, and so the guy has not stopped throwing fire since that moment, vomiting fire, hatred and repeating that it was a fraud.

And I would like to know about those who are now acting as judges, the rulers who are acting as judges of what has happened in Venezuela, where there was an election that President Maduro won; but well, first, who has invited them to qualify or disqualify? None of them has dared to question the fraud that they say occurred in the United States, which Trump says, or the fraud that occurred in the United States when they stole the Presidency from Al Gore to put Bush’s son in office.

Nothing is happening there! Nothing is happening there! Meanwhile, those who tear their clothes off as if they were great democrats, here in Latin America they tear their clothes off as if they were great democrats, and they should see how their house is, how they live disqualifying each other when they do not recognize the election results, how they fight in Congress, in the Assemblies, how they use violence in every election. Oh, and now they appear as gentle doves.

The Yankee simply said, we must carry out a coup against the Bolivarian Revolution, and they have to go in line, because if not, the Yankee will tell them: If you do not join in carrying out a coup against the Bolivarian Revolution, sanctions will come against you. They threaten them like this, they threaten them calmly, and we are facing what is an outrage, a lack of respect for a Heroic People, the People of Bolívar, the People of Chávez, the People of President Nicolás Maduro.

Today we saw the Army Commanders meeting with the President, and the Chief of the Venezuelan Army, General Padrino, giving forceful statements. They will abide by and are abiding by what the Supreme Electoral Council of Venezuela decided, because the Electoral Council of the United States, or the Electoral Council of any Latin American country, cannot decide there. Since when, since when are these governors the Electoral Council of Latin America? Since when? Nobody has given them that power….

Unfortunately, I was saying, we see how Latin American rulers have tried to destroy the sovereignty of the Venezuelan people, to try to sink it, destroy it, carry out the coup and then put there a puppet of the Empire and of the Imperialists of the Earth. But we are sure that this is a brave people, the people who rescued Chavez when they had him prisoner, the people of Bolivar, and the people of Nicolas Maduro who have known how to fight the battle in the midst of a terrible blockade.

A terrible blockade and the Yankees have stolen from them, yes, the Yankees and the English have stolen billions of dollars from Venezuela, they have stolen them, just like that. Why? Because there we have a State, the imperialist States have gangster practices, they handle all these issues like gangsters and when they see the opportunity to steal a People’s wealth, they steal it, and nothing happens.

There is no United Nations body that condemns this, just as there is no United Nations body that says that what the Venezuelan people decided must be respected, that what the Supreme Electoral Council of Venezuela reported must be respected, and not that the United Nations also comes with the same discourse.

Because the United Nations, its leadership, is nothing more than an instrument of the Imperialists of the Earth, there the Peoples are represented by the Governments, but unfortunately the Governments submit to the Imperialists of the Earth, because they are always threatening them, they threaten the Governments and then they give in.

And there is no democracy in the United Nations, there is no democracy, there have been more than 60 years of blockade against Cuba, and there have been votes for some time, year after year the vast majority of the United Nations Delegates have voted to suspend the blockade against Cuba, and there have been votes where only the Yankee has remained with Israel, that is, two votes only and the rest of the world is demanding, because it really is a crime, it is a genocide that is being committed against the Cuban People.

Look, the vast majority voted in favor of lifting the blockade in the United Nations Plenary, and the Yankees simply do not pay attention. And they call themselves democrats, but they do not practice democracy, their practice is gangster-like, they are gangsters….

And we will continue to fight for Peace. Peace is the basic principle for a society to function, for a people to develop, for a people to grow. If there is no peace, it is impossible for a people to develop, but for there to be peace there must be loyalty, dignity, firmness, values, which we have inherited from all the heroes and martyrs who throughout history have given their lives in defense of sovereignty.
